In memory of Rosemary Gamble
We lost our mum at the end of February, and she was a big supporter of Breakthrough UK as she was one of the lucky ones whose Breast Cancer was picked up and treated through a routine mammogram at aged 52. She had a big heart and supported so many charities, too many to mention here.
We always had a love of crafts, which was inspired by mum's ability to turn her hand to anything. Through her work and personal life she was a dab hand at using a sewing machine and she would make us outfits when we were small and later on went onto to make soft toys for us and anybody else who wanted them. She was also an avid knitter and her crochet was amazing and she once made me and my sister a complete wardrobe of 'Cindy' doll outfits, my sister cherished hers and I played with mine. My sister can crochet and I hope to master that one day too!
My sister also inspired both me and mum in our love of Cross-Stitch, and although I wouldn't listen at the time, my first (major) project was a 'wedding sampler' for my boss, took me a while but it was completed in time for her wedding and my boyfriend at the time (now my hubby) made me a beautiful frame for it.
A couple of years back I did a scrapbook page called ‘a stitch in time’ on my journey through crafts, and won a runner’s up prize. Lee and I went to one of the NEC Craft Shows and made the most of it!
So I am now using my love of card making to raise donations for this worthy cause, in memory of my lovely mum and any others that have been helped by it.
I am setting up this page for any donations, please do not feel obliged to contribute.
For any cards I sell I will be making a donation myself to Breakthrough Breast Cancer UK.
Love you always, Mum
All my love Nichola xxxx
