Rachael was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer aged 34 and found out she carried the BRACA1 gene after diagnosis.

Rachael had so much more life to live, she had just got married in Cornwall to her soul mate. Rachael loved beach and Forrest walks with her two precious dogs, her 1960s Beatle her husband and friends fixed up for her as an surprise and lots of gigs including foo fighters and Coldplay.

We all have so many fond memories with Rachael which will never be forgotten, a short but beautiful life.

Rachaels journey ended just 12 months after diagnosis when she was just 35.

More research and awareness is needed especially with triple negative due to less treatment options available with the aggressive nature of the disease.

Rachael has left behind a husband, parents, sister, nephew, aunty, mother in law, step daughter, her 2 springerdors and lots of friends.

Rachael will forever be in all of our hearts and never forgotten.

Love from all her family and friends xx

I was thinking about Rachael and her family while doing a coast to coast cycle ride last week: 245km, 3800m of climbs. I’d like to donate in memory of Rachael to support the great work done by Breast Cancer Now. Plenty of times I wished I could drive up those hills in that gorgeous ‘66 Beetle!

Your story in Practical Classics shows the love and devotion you had for each other and this is a very small token of respect and recognition to you for sharing such a very moving story. This is of course a very worthy cause.
