Jane was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Diagnosed with an aggressive strain in 2009, It spread quickly, being diagnosed at stage 3 - stage 4 wasn't far away. At the end, practically every major system was compromised. She fought on bravely for 3 full years. 3 Years that we the family were very grateful for. She survived to see her 1st grandchild Esme born and she enjoying seeing her grow and develop over her 1st 10 months.
Sadly Jane lost her fight the day after her birthday, on the 20th September 2012. She was surrounded by those that loved her dearly.
She will be greatly missed and we really hope that we can help in the fight against this cruel disease, which robs sufferers and their families of that most precious of things. Shared Time.
Jane was a truly lovely person, someone who lit up a room and everyone genuinely liked. Beautiful in mind, looks and her gentle nature.
Family were the most important thing in Jane's life. We are blessed with one perfect grandchild and three beautiful children, none of which have given us a moments trouble. Each of them is blessed with Jane's common sense and I know the way they each live their lives will be separate tribute to Jane and the life we shared.
The following poem was chosen by Amy, Kate and James, which they felt best summed up their mother.
You can only have one mother,
Patient, kind and true,
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same as you
Her life was full of kindly deeds,
A helping hand to those in need
A pleasant smile, a heart of gold
No better mother this world could hold
You toiled so hard for those you loved,
You said goodbye to none
your spirit flew before we knew
your work on earth was done
As we weep we send this message
to our dear mother up above
To tell her how we miss her
And give her all our love
To me she was my rock and a constant source of re-assurance. I was very lucky to be able to share my life with such a beautiful soul and I will miss her desperately.
I dont think I will ever forget my mums face when I first brought Jane home to meet the family, I don't think she could quite believe that I could catch such a classic beauty and if I'm honest I couldn't believe it either. Which is further backed up by the children telling me I was punching well above my weight.
We were together as husband and wife for over 30 years. The pain right now is very raw and the only thing that helps is talking to those that knew her.
The following poem gives me comfort when I read it.
Don't cry for me now I have died, for I am here I'm by your side,
My body's gone but my soul's still here, please don't shed another tear,
I am here I'm all around, if you look close I can still be found.
I am the snowflake that kisses your nose,
I am the frost, that nips your toes.
I am the sun, bringing you light,
I am the star, shining so bright.
I am the bird, up in the sky,
I am the cloud, that's drifting by.
I am the thoughts, inside your mind,
If you look closely, its me you'll find.
To conclude, please help us fight this terrible disease in Jane's name. Please donate whatever you can.
