In memory of Beryl Waterman

In loving memory of my courageous and beautiful mother who died from breast cancer in June 2006. After the initial diagnosis and a mastectomy she was clear of the cancer for 6 years before it reappeared in the chest wall. Chemotherapy - a course of Herceptin - gave her a further year in remission before the cancer metastasized into her brain. Refusing radiotherapy, the only treatment available, which might have given her a little more time - she died at home 4 months later.
